The historic Washington College Academy will host a clash between Union and Confederate troops beginning Saturday, June 13 as part of a Living History/Skirmish. The public is invited to witness living history as re-enactors from all over the region offer demonstrations of Civil War era army life, including medical demonstrations, a ladies team, children’s demonstration, infantry and artillery drills, and a program of music from the period.
The June 13 battle will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by a pass and review of the troops. Saturday’s festivities conclude with a program of Civil War era music in the auditorium of Carnegie/Temple Hall on the WCA campus.
On Sunday, June 14 the camps re-open at noon ahead of a second battle at 2 p.m.
May 19, 2015 – LIMESTONE, Tenn. Washington College Academy will offer “Introduction to Plumbing” a one-day workshop introducing common materials and joining techniques for home improvement. The workshop will take place 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 6 at the Washington College Academy campus in Limestone,Tenn.
Fred Sahr of Fred’s Plumbing in Greeneville, Tenn. will lead the workshop along with licensed contractor Tony Alter. Participants will work with PEX, copper, and galvanized pipes, learn how each material is used and basic methods for joining them.
